Behind the scenes – Riverside Farm Vermont Real Wedding – Carolyn + Vince

For a while it looked like we might have to institute the rain plan. Not a bad option, the red barn is the epitome of rustic chic. But nature smiled on Carolyn + Vince, and the sun came out just before noon on Saturday.

What else made Carolyn + Vince’s Riverside Farm wedding special? Family. The guest book was surrounded by family photos. And there were beautiful children. Kids can be unpredictable at weddings, but give them a job and they’ll take it seriously. With adorable intensity two sets of ring bearers and flower girls preceded the bride down the aisle.

Occasions provided an outstanding menu, and an outrageous dessert display featuring rustic props and delicious sweets. Even before the ceremony began guests were greeted with seasonal specialty – apple cider. During the reception dinner guests chose between 3 main dishes:

Peppered New York Strip Steak
Served with pumpkin risotto cakes and green beans with gremolata.

Lemon Herb Crusted Salmon Filet
Served with an herb mayonnaise, Served with pumpkin risotto cakes and green beans with gremolata.

Butternut Squash Ravioli

Hand crafted ravioli, paired with soubise sauce made of spinach and carmelized onions and topped with Vermont’s famous tarentaise sauce, Served with green beans with gremolata.

Desert brought even more choices – an exquisite layer cake from Cakes by Irene and a Dessert Miniatures bar with Pastry Tartlets, Pumpkin Custard Profiteroles, Maple Caramel Brownies with Cream Cheese Swirls and Pecan Pie Bites. The evening ended ended with a spectacular send off to fiery wedding sparklers.
