“Vintage 4th of July Welcome Picnic”

July 7, 2011

Last weekend we had one of the most memorable weddings ever here at Riverside Farm. Sarah and Ian held a fantastic weekend long “Vintage Fourth of July” wedding.  It was absolutely gorgeous – the weather was warm and sunny and all the guests were so happy for the couple. What made this wedding even more unique is that the groom is the brother of Courtney Desena (owner of Riverside) and the gorgeous bride is also one of Courtney’s best friends (college roommate). Needless to say all the friends and family were ecstatic and ready to celebrate in style!

The wedding “weekend” started on Thursday evening when the families arrived and enjoyed quiet dinner at The Amee Farm. Friday morning everyone went golfing at Green Mountain National Golf course (just a few miles away) followed by a fun “Welcome Picnic” in the Red Barn. Imagine a room full of sunflowers and red and white check linens, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream sundaes, hot dogs and burgers and old fashioned american flags… it was casual and fun and while the adults played horse shoes and drank local beer “Lawson’s Finest” out of Waitsfield (coincidentally, the groom’s last name is Lawson) …children played games and blew bubbles. Fabulous local artist, Duane Carlton, played the guitar and sang classic rock songs and everyone had a smile on their face.

Here’s some photos of Friday night’s events:)
